Immigration to Ireland

Irish society has undergone great changes over the past decade, Ireland mutating into new home, while, for many decades, part of the population chose to departure for foreign lands, often distant. The unemployment rate is currently minimal, and it should be noted that more than 9% of workers were not born in Ireland.

Citizens of EEA (European Economic Area, including all European Union countries and Liechtenstein and Norway) do not need work permits to conduct business in Ireland ( with some exceptions: for example, if you are a citizen of Bulgaria or Romania ). Residents of other countries (non-EEA) must obtain the necessary permits.

The previous program visas and work permits, established in 2000 to allow companies to recruit from outside the EEA, has recently been replaced by a new system, whose purpose is to allow the recruitment of highly qualified employees that it is not possible to find in the EEA. This is considered strategic for the proper development of the Irish economy.

The current system encourages migrants with a job in one of the sectors experiencing shortages of skilled workers. Ce système n'est pas basé sur des quotas ou des points, comme dans d'autres pays. This system is not based on quotas or points, as in other country. Il comprend les catégories suivantes : It includes the following categories.

1. Work Permits Green Card

2. Standard work permit

3. Transfer of a key employee to a subsidiary in Ireland

4. Work permits for husband / wife
